PQI Tech Specs
Transformers are used to change voltage from one level to another. In commercial and industrial facilities transformers are primarily used to “step down” high voltage from utility power line levels to acceptable levels for a facilities low-voltage electrical needs. Since all of a facilities lights, electrical equipment and computers use transformed power selecting a high quality transformer is essential to equipment efficiency and longevity.

*Department of Energy (DOE) 2016 Title 10 Energy 431.196 – Starting January 1, 2016 low voltage dry type transformer manufacturers are required to meet a higher standard for efficiencies. The result of these changes will be a significant reduction in energy losses. More information can be found here. https://www1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/appliance_standards/product.aspx/productid/66
